Founded in 1991 to continue the 20-year tradition
established by Drs. W. Edwin Conner and John W. Heryer as
Kansas City’s leading colorectal specialists, Colorectal
Surgery Associates,
PC was
created by Drs. Edwin Conner, Pierre Castera and Lina
O’Brien following Dr. Heryer’s retirement.
Colorectal
Surgery Associates is proud to continue the legacy Dr.
Conner began in 1979 by providing excellent colorectal care,
in combination with advanced surgical techniques, to treat
patients suffering from
diseases of the intestines, colon, rectum, and
anus.
The physicians of Colorectal Surgery Associates are committed to
treating patients as individuals, to communicating their
medical care in a manner that patients can understand, and
to developing trusting doctor-patient relationships in order
to foster the best possible treatment outcomes.
They have extensive experience in colon and rectal
surgery for cancer, with special emphasis on
sphincter-saving surgery (thus avoiding colostomy in many
cases). Other innovative procedures they perform
include the pelvic J-pouch for ulcerative colitis, the PPH
stapling procedure for internal hemorrhoids, and
laparoscopic colon surgery for a minimally-invasive
alternative to open abdominal colon surgery. |
